A Silver Friend: Chapter 1
Silver admitted it to herself: So far, her life has sucked.
After losing her parents, a memory she purposefully avoided, she had been taken into Miss Kind’s Orphanage. Miss K was the women who watched over the kids there, and boy was she awful. No personal possessions allowed aside from clothes and a tooth brush. If you were bad, you spent a few days in solitary confinement. Life had quickly failed Silver’s 14 year old expectations of the world and hope was draining away.
Silver had blonde hair, much like her mothers, which had a soft waving texture. The front strip of hair on her right was dyed silver, after her name. She has gray blue eyes that often reflected her mood, and wasn’t very tall for her age, about 5’2. She wore a dark gray long sleeve shirt the loosely clung to her and pajama bottoms.

Jack was absently glazing the side of his chair with an intricate design of frost, not really paying attention to the other Guardians quietly discussing who-knows-what. Jack Frost was glad he was a Guardian, but sometimes being serious wasn’t his thing, and a lot of the time this was a serious job. The Guardians were great friends, but no one really understood him fully, not really. If only he had a friend that was like him, his own age. Well, not 300 years old but, well…
A cough tore his mind from wandering, and Jack became embarrassed as all the other Guardians were staring at him, obviously expecting him to say something.
“Um, I-I uh…” Jack began to stutter to the others. North reached over and placed a hand on Jack’s shoulder.
“VWhy don’t you go and spend some time alone?” he gently suggested, though it was more like a command. Jack hung his head, giving a simple nod.
